Digital Citizenship and Social Capital

Firstly to answer how a digital citizen can build and enhance social capital Let us first define what social capital is. It is the collective value of all social networks and the inclinations that we have from these networks to do things for each other. The central idea is that every social circle we are in and every social interaction we have has a value to us in some way according to the IIE (2019)

Tech companies are at the forefront of our social interactions these days and being a digital citizen who can take advantage of them and use them to their fullest will be highly beneficial to you. Social Media handles the bulk of our interactions with each other and Digital companies even have implications not only in the digital space, but in the real world too, for example Uber helps people go physically meet with each other; Tinder helps people find love and people talk office politics on WhatsApp and even set meetings there
Being a digital citizen who has done can help with fulfilling the various roles social capital has in our lives we build trust, partake in participation on blogs, be an activist on social causes like the #metoo movement we saw last year.
in reality we can do anything to gain social capital in the real world in the digital space because as digital citizens our world is at our finger tips.
